I was 1/2 way there but ran out of daylight agrivating to say the least.
Anyway, I couldn't see a bracket that the pump bolts to. The manual says there is a bracket you undue and then the whole unit comes out. Then you pull the pulley off and then the bracket.
Like a said, I could't see any bracket. I lossened the three bolts that are behind the pulley until they were actually touching the pulley. The pump was loose but there was no way to get it threw the hole.
I then tightened it back up and tried pulling the pulley off. I put quite a bit off pressure on the nut but nothing moved????
I was running out of light and this is my ride to and from work so I tightened everything back up. Put some ATF in the res. and fired her up.
So, does anyone have any tips, or instruction on the easiest way to change out the pump? I put some WD-40 on the pulley. Hopefully by tommorow it will help ease that pully off. What a bear
The Pulley on the pump isnt a screw on like the chevy's ! You have to press it off and back on again with a special tool. Advance sells them. Well worth the 20 bucks. The power steeringppump is simple to get off. Take off the 3 bolts holding it to the bracket and it should just drop down. Let us know how you make out.
Ditto on the puller, well worth the cost. If there is an Autozone around you could borrow one from them. Due to space limitations you may need to remove the PS bracket and pump from the engine in order to use the puller.

Make sure the installer kit allows you to push the pulley further onto the shaft or the belt may ride up on the crank pulley. Need the installer for latter model vehicles. http://www.drivewerks.com/catalog/Sh...AT501_pg11.htm This may be the one.
