'93' F150 Powersteering pulley removal

so, this is the first time i've seen such a critter. The power steering pump shares a beefy cast aluminum bracket with the AC pump and I need to remove the PS pump. The PS pump is bolted to one side of the bracket and the pulley is attached on the other side of said aluminum bracket. Obviously the pulley needs to be removed before gaining access to the bolts holding the PS pump to the aluminum bracket. Question, how does this pulley come off and do I need to remove the entire cast aluminum bracket inorder to get to the pulley. I don't see a bolt keeping the pulley attached to PS pump??

You need a power steering pulley removal/installation tool set. Your local auto parts store should be able to rent one to you if you don't want to buy it.

Thanks White Max, i'm assuming its much easier with the bracket and all out of the truck, a little more work but oh well.
Now how about re-installing the pulley onto the new pump? I think i read somewhere on the forum about freezing the pump and heating the pulley...

Honestly, it's about the same either in the truck or in a vise. Freezing the pump and heating the pulley (slightly...don't take a torch to it) helps, but you'll still need to use the installer tool.

Hey, I went to YOUTUBE and there was a video of my exact model of truck and you were right WM, this guy left the bracket in the truck and did the swap right there. He just had to loosen and move the fan shroud off to the side a bit. Looks like i know what i'll be doing this weekend.
