wondering out loud
I was just wondering does anyone know what would happen if you have the auto locking hubs on your truck and someone put one hub on lock and the other on auto? Would that mean one hub would turn and the other wouldn't. I am thinking if someone was mischievous and just turned one hub different from the other. Would it hurt the system? I would think not but gee, I am wondering about it as it can't be good for it? And if you drove it like that just what might happen??
Thoughts??
Thoughts??
About 1 month after I bought my new 6.7L, I did find one hub in auto and the other in lock. I made sure and had both in auto. I have no idea how long it was that way and how it happened.
One year later and I have not noticed a single problem as a result of that happening.

There was a thread about this long ago that alot of guys (myself included) had one hub locked from the factory. Not sure why they did this, but I drove around with it like that for a month or so I think before I noticed.
I did have a 4wd engagement issue, but I highly doubt it was related to the one hub being locked for that short of time. I wouldn't sweat it.
