2000 Ex V10 4x4 140k.
Hi all, Check my hubs and found one turns free and the other is locked in.
Have turn the mechanism to the lock mode and to the auto mode and it doesn't change. Any suggestion on what to check next? Many thanks.

I had the same problem with my 99F250SD... Put your hub on auto, reach behind the wheel, grab the axle u-joint behind the wheel and try to move it back & forth (rotationally forward & backward).
Get it?
This would work to unlock my hub when it stuck. Sometime you have to rotate the hub back & forth a few times between Auto & Lock a few times too.

I had the same problem. I ended up replacing the hubs with the mile marker hubs. End of problem. This has been a known issue and is widely written about here.
yep... the dreaded locked up hub.... ford wants $325.00 each for autos .... a pair of warn manual locking hubs $194.00 .... mine died this past december......
I found this would happen from time to time and always resovled it by using the guzzle's site to relube. Once lubed up nice and taken care of they don't cause problems, you just have to maintain them. It takes about 10 minutes per side now, maybe twice a year and all is well. Here is the link. Welcome to guzzle's Ford PSD Web Pages
Guzzle is an excellent site, thanks, the re-lube makes sense. I will do the re-lube right after I fix my cruise control problem. Nice to know warn/mile marker has a plan "B".
Thanks guys/gals; now on to my CC problem

What is wrong with your CC? I ask because I had issues to resolve with the CC this past December. Maybe I can give some input.
Disregard the question, I just saw your thread about this.
I would like to discus the CC issue on the other thread, many thanks Wallz.
My hub issue has been resolved, for now at least. I drove from Michigan to Florida and to realized it was not free. After reading Guzzle's decided to remove the hub and check it.
The removal was very easy, you need to use a good pair of rubber gloves to get the traction to give it a good pull. The "O" ring was in good shape and the whole hub was very clean inside. I could see the inner spline was not turning and I removed the first circlip (use circlip pliers, its a tough one) and the spacer ring and noticed it was now running free. I don't know quite what I did but I carefully put everything back together and now it should be ok to get back to Michigan where I will do the Guzzle treatment to both. Will not be selecting 4x4 as there would be a good chance it will not release again,
but then, why should I want 4x4
