Need Help on Lift and tires sizes

Hi guys,

First I want to say I just got my first excursion and I don't know anything about them.
The EX is a 2000 V10 limited 4x4 185k miles.
the king looks good, is very clean all stock, just minor things like headlights are sun burned, door locks don't work, passenger side front seat is in bad shape, rearview mirror is out, steering wheel is lose.

I want to make it looks good, so I ordered 07 stile headlight and soon the grill. Now I need to take care of the suspension lift, wheels and tires.
The truck is going to be used 80% of the time for family's road trips and 20% to tow my race car to the track inside a 24ft in closed trailer weight is in the 7000lbs to 9000lbs. Ride is very important for me but I want to get some lift and go with 33" tires on maybe 18 or 20" wheels not sure how high I need to go to fit 33. I have read a lot but it does not make any sense to me, V X B and other springs codes. or just put block from ebay? I don't have to much money so the cheaper the better.
thanks

V and X are factory front spring assemblies from ford. Most go with the V's. The X code springs will lift it a little more but will be alot stiffer than the V's. It will net about 1 1/2" over stock height. Which means it will prolly lift your about 3" from where it is now. Look at the front spring bumpstops on yours now. Most likely they are about touching or close to it. The B is the rear spring code. also from ford. TYPICAL SETUP---Most do V springs in the front, B springs in the rear and the F350 lift block for the rear too. The stock block is like 1 5/8" and the F350 block is like 3 3/4" tall. Adjust the slop out of the steering box, a set of rotors and pads, you are good to go.

Thanks for the input. with the V springs at front and B springs and F350 blocks just in the back. I should get about 3" lift? what about block in the front will I need any or will it be level? I'm guessing but I will need shocks to right? anything else? how much will that setup be?

NEVER PUT BLOCKS IN THE FRONT OF ANYTHING. No just replace the springs. you can keep stock shocks. mise well replace em with new ones though.

I've got the Trail Grapplers and love them. Look aggressive, but not loud at all.
