I have a 76 302 that dies below 2000rpms randomly. Its done it 3 times today running errands around town. It did it when I downshifted between 3rd to 2nd comming to a stop. Another time it did it when i was comming to a stop in neutral. And the 3rd time was when I was just crusing down the road in 3rd at about 1500rpms at 35mph. And she's done it randomly when I start her up and turn on the electric fan - she dies but still have electricity to run lights, 4 way blinkers, fan. When she's running the voltage is at 14 volts. I'm getting fuel and air, but I think the spark keeps craping out. Is it my voltage regulater or ignition module or something elce?
oh another question why do I keep going through caps and rotors? Keep burning holes in the cap by the spark plug wire terminal on the onside of the cap and the metal piece that the spark jumps on the rotor keeps popping up.
Replaced the cap and rotor. Cap was dang near burnt through at a couple of the terminals inside the cap it was only 5 months old (the cap and rotor). I also put on my stock coil I was running a MSD Blaster 2 coil. Hopefully that will help so I quit going through cap and rotors every 3-6 months.
