Can anyone recommend a GOOD distributor cap and rotor? The cheap ones at Napa just aren't cutting it. They get burned up way too quick.
I'm running the electronic ignition style cap and rotor, but I'm still running points. Other components are: Bosch platinum plugs at .45, high energy 8mm plug wires, an Accel super stock coil.
I use the autozone cap and rotor and have had good luck. It is the more expensive one. My old distributor was off somehow making the rotor cut into the contacts on one side of the cap. The new dizzy works great.
I had one of those std replacement caps/rotors in my 352. It barely lasted a year now. I just happen to check it, the inside contacts were toasted.
I bought the "upgraded" version, which has copper coated contacts in cap. We will see how long it lasts. I dont remember the cost, but it was only maybe a buck more than the std model.
I have a new cap laying in my garage... if you can't find one that works for you... I'll send you this one.
I bought it at Oreillys and I "misplaced it" so I bought a new one just like it. Ive used it for quite a while and its still working great
