I am sure most of you have some sunburned door panel edges on the top. Usually around the lock and up toward the front.
I did, and as I am striving to make this interior the absolute best it can be for the Cummins conversion I wanted them nice.
Additionally I also wanted the switch bezels and armrests to be black to match the dash.
Here's what I did, PICTURES Stewart below , LOL
1. Remove the door panels
2. If you want to respray the armrest remove these as well. There are 4 bolts that hold them on. Easy to do
3. Clean the door panels along the top edge and at least 6-8 inches down with, my favorite, purple stuff cleaner.
4. Clean the area again with prep sol
5. Repeat step 4
6. Mask off fake woodgrain area and about 6 inches lower to minimize overspray
7. Repeat step 4 with clean towel
8. Repeat step 7
9. Don't touch the areas you have cleaned with your filthy, oily hands
Now the trick here is you are not painting the whole door panel or area. You are lightly dusting the area and blending the paint in. If you start and the bottom, first cost should be tight then gradually add more area after each coat. Like a set of stairs, starting at the top.
When you are done, you should not be able to see where you did the work at all.

Hey, that's some nice work! I too have used the SEM stuff and it works very well.
I did my instrument bezel, and the forward piece of the console (that used to be cupholders and now is a "bucket"..i think from an earlier SD) and my only complaint was that I wished the black had been a bit duller.

Maybe a help to others with a flint interior...when I replaced the "hook" on the dash with a earlier ashtray, I used SEM Presidio for a good match. Used the same for a sill plate that was damaged. (Had it off, placed in a bad location and backed over it. Made it look like new with a heat gun and SEM)
