I am looking for someone to assist me with troubleshooting my ESOF system. I know the system but what I need is someone to tell me voltages to the transfer case motor. I need to know the voltages when shifted into 4h and then to 4L and in reverse back to 2wd. I also need to know the length of time the voltages are present. If anyone can help that would be great.
Take a look at this document I put together to troubleshoot the system. You will need to do some reading, but I think what you are looking for is there.
Thanks that is very useful and will go in my collection of procedures. But the one I don't see is when in 4h and going to 2wd is there voltage present? Or in other words how does it go from 4h to 2wd?
Yes and yes I have went as far as going through the the service manual ohming out wires and relays.
Have you bench tested the two ESOF relays? They are next to the under hood fuse and relay box. If you have the trailer tow package the ESOF relays are the ones furthest forward.
Yes I had two good ones and I also ohmed out the wires to the Xfer case. Unfortunately I believe it to be my gem unless it has a control module/sensor behind the glove box however I am unable to find it.

P.s. thanks everyone for the help.
1999-2001 use he GEM for ESOF.
The 2002 & 2003 have a separate 4WD control module.
The 2 good ones were exact replacements with the normally closed contact 87a.
