Ok well this is my pipe bumper. It was all just scrap pipe I had laying around from other projects. Roll cages and such. The only flat stock I used was for the uprights in the front. The very center in the bottom is actually the reinforced winch mount portion of a Warn Enforcer bumper that got ruined by my buddy. But otherwise, it's actually really tough. I've hit white tail deer at 50 with 0 damage to the bumper. And because the bumper is raked out like it is, anything you hit goes under the truck instead of into the grille. The picture when it's black is when it's finish welded and powdercoated. The other pictures are when it's just tacked together.
The bumper probably weighs 400 pounds or better by the way.
Lol. That usually makes the chevy guys mad, and the ford guys take it as a challenge. My uncle had that on his truck for years and I got that from him when I bought my truck.
Nick, I like that bumper! It's different looking since it is sunk in unlike the winch bumpers, like was said in that thread. I do prefer the "shelf" on the top, because it gives you somewhere to stand if you have to do any motor work from the top, changing plugs, putting in oil, stuff like that. Especially since neither your truck or mine are very short.
Looks really nice!!!! i like that it isnt a great big winchbumper
I could very well end up with something in this style with a couple of driving lights in it!
Did you paint it in the trucks colour? i would love to see a pic then?
My brothers got one that looks identical to that except its a back bumper for his side-by-side. Its real slick lookin! Kinda like a HD rollpan lol. If I did one like that, Id pull it out some, just so I can have a step, like GNR22 said. I hate standing on my tires tryin to get stuff done lol
