made a new front bumper outa some structural c channel we had around. I got tired of messing up my front bumper, and I needed a place to hook to when pulling people (and being pulled).
what I started with:
good ole tsc d rings, mig turned all the way up to weld um on
The finished product: Im going to make one exactly like it for the rear, only there will be a reciever in the middle and a traingular brace on the backside. Total cost 13$
That looks slick! I have some 8" x 1/4 C channel hanging around I never used because my welder isn't good enough. Your picture motivates me to tack weld it together and bring it somewhere. My current bumper is almost twisted in 1/2.
Not sure on the size of them, they were the biggest Tractor Supply had, and they were rated for quite a bit. Mine was pretty mangled, the bottom was bent in pretty good, and the drivers side was pushed in, almost touching my fender and grill.
starting to look for a winch, anybody have any pic of a hidden winch on a bumper somewhat like mine? I want put mine up behind the bumper, just not sure if it would fit.
Well I dont think I'm going to spring for the winch just yet. A tow company near our storage lot has a f350 wheel lift tow truck, and I think I had the single 8 or 10 k hydro winch on it, and I''m going to see if he'll let it go. the truck burnt up the cab, so I think itll go pretty cheap, Im just hoping its ok.
