Transmission issue

I had the NOX sensor reflash a while back and after it was done my transmission shifted great. I have now started to notice that it feels like it shifts into 3rd gear twice, it will shift and continue going but as I put more power to it it starts to feel like it is slipping then feels like it engages and it is still in 3rd gear. It will also do the same thing in 4th about 30% of the time. I almost can get it to do it in 3rd about 75% of the time. Anyone have something similar or have any suggestions as my dealer is a little busy and I am having a hard time getting in?

Thanks for any help.......

I'm curious if your truck doing this before the reflash?? My truck has been doing the same kinda thing for months now, they have reflashed twice, helps for a while then back to bad shifting. I don't have the latest flash though, as the dealer is far away.

Yes my truck did do this sometimes prior to the flash just not very often. It did shift great after the reflash and then it went to crap. I am guessing that I am going to have to take it into the dealer as I have heard that it may be the torque converter but I was hoping to get more info from here.

Ya sorry I'm no help, I was curious if our trucks had the same things wrong. Some have suggested that my tc may be causing my issues too. There is also a solenoid tsb for rough shifts, I'm gonna be turning up the heat next visit to my dealer and insist they check both. Those are only two thing I could suggest, hopefully someone will have more info for you.

The shifting twice in 3rd is normal, it is going into lockup converter. You notice it more with light throttle.
And it can do the same 3rd thru 6 th Absolutly normal. Normal lockup converter.

if its any help i noticed this also and kept complaining, as it did not seem normal. kept bitching and bitching, kept having the truck reflashed. so after a while the dealer finally started looking further into the problem, discovered ford was having a few issues with the tc. he ran a test on my truck while driving it around with a computer plugged into the truck. truck failed the test. replaced tc and updated flywheel. truck shifted amazing and after a few thousand miles, went back to the normal driving that you are noticing and that i noticed. after all of this i heard somewhere that this is the normal shifting for these trucks, its just the tc locking up. if u go out for a drive today, ease into the throttle and u will feel what u have been feeling and notice the rpms drop a bit, then raise back up and shift into 4th after a few seconds. at the next stop sign just punch it and u will still notice the rpm drop but you wont feel the "slip" like feeling in third nearly as much. thats just how our trucks run... and if u ask me, i hate it and think its retarded. but it is what it is!

Lockup converters been around along time. There just utilizing it more, fuel economy keep the rpms low. Nothing retarded about them. They save you money. Drive it and enjoy it.
