[SOLVED] 2011 Escape rough shifting

My Escape is a month old with about 1200 miles on it.

I had been noticing that the shifting was inconsistent. 2-3 seemed to shift late, or hang on 2nd gear up to 3k, and then decide to drop into 3rd. When accelerating, it would shift down inconsistently as well.

Nothing major, but noticeable (to me).

While I was in for my 30-day dealer checkup, I mentioned the problem.

The tech couldn't confirm the issue during the drive test, but there was a TSB which described the problem.

The dealer performed TSB 11-03-17, reprogrammed PCM.

This corrected the problem.

Now the shifts are consistent and solid. Acceleration is smooth and it doesn't tend to shift down if I get on it just a little.

Hoping this helps someone down the line.

Reflashing the PCM is a fixall for many problems but your lucky they did anything without duplicating the problem.

That's what I thought too. Maybe because there was a TSB on it (who knows?).

Either way I'm pleased with how the dealer handled it. Textbook courtesy and professionalism.

I don't know if we can mention dealers here, but Jordan Ford in Northern Indiana came highly recommended by a co-worker along with several 5-star local reviews.

So far, so good.
