Okay, here's what happened. Got the keys cut. I took the passenger lock cylinder out, and my lock smith decoded the door lock. Then he referenced a book he has that gives the last two cuts for the ignition cylinder, based on the last cut of the door cylinder. There were about a half a gozillion combinations. He got it on the fourth cut. Fortunately, I didn't have to do the Storm Trooper Mambo, just a little salsa. It was a little more than $30, but he came right out to the house. Now, I have three new keys, and the key cuts for future reference.
No luck at the dealership. They can't do vehicles older than 2003. They said call a locksmith, which I did, and now I'm just waiting on the call back with the price.
Last fall I lost our only key to our excursion Tried the dealer for the key code and was told because it is an 01, its no longer in the data base, they only keep the last 10 years and delete after that. There is an organization that keeps key codes for much longer. Some locksmiths are members, if you can find one that is, you can buy the code from them or have them make your keys. That is what I had to do.
