Alright guys I made a purchase today at bass pro and got a new shifter **** for the truck after getting home and trying to pull the factory **** off things were not going well so i did a little research ......they are pressed on with splines explains why it wasn't coming off haha...my question is how can i remove the factory **** with out damaging it just in case I want to put it back on? Also what is the diameter of the shaft under the **** so i can verify the new **** will fit .......thanks guys help me out here .....Josh Byerly
Haha explains the white chalk at the bottom ......butttttt that gives me some hope now that it will come off what do you think about heating it up uncle bill??
I modified mine as well, to fit a blue dice on it..(pic in album). If i remember right, you pull hard enough, you'll remove the stock shifter bar itself, from the rubber insert, thats at the base of the shifter. All it is (shift lever) is forced down on a rubber tube, to alleviate the vibration/noise, from the trans.

Dice looks good man I like it....what I got was a stainless steel 44 mag pistol grip it looks pretty cool maybe a little hillbilly but hey who cares lol.....but by chance when you had yours off did you notice what the diameter of the stick was?
I dont bud. I chucked it when i destroyed it, try'n to have clearance for my under-dash gauge pod. Thats how i ended up fabbing a new shifter lever. I'd say, take measure from right under the ****, and you'd probably real close to the size under the ****. Dont forget to post up the pic of the gunner, think that wud look sweet. I sinced dumped the dice and now have an American League baseball in its place..LOL

Alright man i will do that I am maybe going to do some work on it this evening and see if i get anywhere....I think this thing will fit it looks like it will i hope haha....but I will for sure post pics of it .......and the baseball would be awesome next to women, archery, diesel trucks, baseball is my next favorite haha......thanks for your help man
If it's super glued on there, pull the shift lever before you try and yank it off. It will be much easier to work with after you remove it anyway. Unscrew the 4 screws in the corners of the rubber boot at the floor and lift it up and you'll see how to remove the lever.
Don't tear or damage that rubber boot. It's made of some sort of magical stuff. You wouldn't believe how much noise it keeps out.
Well I got the ball off guys I told my dad to just get it off there so I turned my head and next thing I heard was snap snap snap snap ........."well its off" was his reply haha so I am going to finish getting the new **** on tomorrow after I get done shooting hopefully it works as it should ......i hope haha
