truck says data error fuel level
when I started truck this morning, it started just fine. Fuel gauge jumped up and down a couple of times, then message center displayed "data error fuel level", and it still says that. Tried all three buttons for the message center and nothing will clear it. Fuel gauge reads3/4 i believe that is correct. What does this mean, and how do i clear message center. I have restarted truck 9 or 10 times and still wont reset message center. Is this a fuel problem or computer problem. Truck is 2005 f-350 lariat crew cab 4x4 drw with 6.0, 171000 miles

You need something other than a SGII.
I have gotten that error a few times and the fix
in my case is new tank sender assembly. I used
my Snap On MT2500 scanner to reset the error.
One of the things that happen is you rub the resistor
track on the sensor (fuel slosh) and it gives the computer bad
data and it gets upset. You do need to get the DTC codes from the
computer to make sure that you have the right fix for the problem.
