hey guys im about to pull the heads off my motor but im wondering if its necessary to remove the injectors prior to pulling the heads
is there a chance i could damage them if i do or is it safer to leave them in... i have no reason to remove them as the truck was running well before i started i just wanted to put in the arp studs and new hg
if you dont have the croeect tools to remove the heads I would pull the injecotrs out. the tips do stick out past the deck, same with the glowplugs.
you will need new injecotr o-ring kits.
you will need to pull then injectors out to clean the heads anyway.
how bout the glow plugs.... the heads are off i removed the injectors before hand and then carefully removed the head with the glow plugs in ..... how do i go about removing them now.... can i do it without special tools?
also i read that i need to watch that i dont lose a snap ring durring injector removal... is this the part that holds the bolt and injector mounting bracket together?
naw injectors holddowns come right out and they pull the injector with them. if you can effectily clean and measure the decks of the heads with them in then feel free.
glowplugs remove harness and remove glowlug with a 10mm socket
how do i go about removing the harness
i tried uncliping the wire where it enters the head but it seems like the wire goes all the way to the plug
does the wire pop off the plug then i pry the rubber part out of the head?
I pulled my heads off an did arp studs an HG an left my injectors n glow plugs in place. Cleaned. Reinstalled. An all works well. I didn't have the long T40 bit.
