04 f350 passenger window wont roll up
i have an 04 f350 and the passenger window wont roll up. it will roll down from the passenger side but not the driver side. i replaced both drivers and passenger switches and have replaced the window motor and i know its good. i traced the wires from the switch to the motor and found out that if i press the switch down i have one positive and one negative. if i press the switch up i have 2 positives. i cant find any broke wires in either doors or in the truck in general. im stuck and need help.

When the switch is "made" for either up or down, you should have the polarity of the reading change.
Use a digital meter for this. Connect the meter leads to the two motor terminals, not to test point/ground as is usually done when making voltage checks. With the switch pressed in one direction, the reading should read positive battery voltage. Press the switch for the opposite direction and you should get the same voltage reading but the opposite polarity.
When you replaced the driver's side switch, was it with a new or a used switch?
Does the driver's side window operate correctly?

2 brand new switches and a brand new motor all from ford. when i press down on the switch i get normal voltage. however when i press up i get no voltage (if i touch ground and touch each of the two wires i have voltage in both) when i have the multi-meter on the 2 wires coming out of the motor. i know my switches are good because i put them both in my buddy's 04 f350 and they worked fine. and the motor is good because i can jump it directly off the battery and the window goes up and down fine. and yes the drivers window works flawlessly.

See the attached diagram. My analysis is that one of the wires (circuit 313) that runs across the cab from the driver's side switch to the passenger side switch is open.

Do you still have this diagram by chance? I am having the same exact issue.

Thanks. I have a crew cab not sure if that’s a big deal or not. I pulled the motor off and tested the plug I get -12v dc going down and 12 when I push the passenger switch up? The window will roll down from driver side or passenger switch but not up. Any ideas?

As you found out the hard way its it's not the switches or motor. Your problem is the wires going through the door loom. Fords are KNOW to have the wires chafe and cut in half right at the pillars. Start on the drivers door first and pull the boot back. Pull the wires and look for a cut or broken one I GUARANTEE you'll find the problem
