Hello everyone, I'd like to first say I have done alot of research on this site and found it to be an invaluable tool, thanks so much. My current issue is that my od light blinks more often than not but seems to be intermintent, it also has broblems hitting the passing gear. If I accelerate from a stop sign at half throttle everything works fine, pedal to the metal it reaches approx 3500 rpm and seems to lunge and will not shift untill I let off the pedal. I should note that it seems to shift at about 2500 rpm in normal situation, it also does this on freeway doing about 70 and I punch it and nothin it actually slows down, unless I really feather it than I can get her up to 80. Ive also thrown some trouble codes. They are as follows, p0174 and p0171, p1130 and p1150, and also p0443. The 1st 4 I beleive are related to a bad 02 sensor, what do you guys think. The last p0443 I have'nt a clue. My real question I guess is could these issues be affecting the tranny performance. I should also add that it has taken a long time for it to warm up even when it's hot out, in fact if I give it gas before it's warm it almost seems to backfire. I am not sure how to tell what trans I have. Thanks for any info in advance and thanks for taking your time to be a part of this site. I recently rebuilt the whole front en of my truck and could not have done it without you guys.
What kind of truck do you have. Some have a modulator valve on the side of trans with vacuum line going to it. When they go bad they make autos act all kind of crazy. If it has this part I would replace it first as it is usually inexpensive around the 10 to 20 dollar range.
From what I can find they were on the c6 trannys, I say that because chilton's only gives inst. on changing the vac modulator on a c6. Chiltons is not my fav though. I'm not sure how to tell what trans I have. Any ideas on my trouble codes.
Thanks
I would agree that the first codes indicate a bad O2 sensor on bank 2 and 443 is an evap code usually from bad gas cap or recirc system problem which I would not worry about. The O2 sensor can cause it to feel underpowered or hesitate when full throttle so I would replace it. Usually you can identify the trans by counting the pan bolts but you will see that modulator it will be hard to miss its usually mounted close to the pan. Im sure you can find something online that tells you how many bolts the C6 trans pan has. You might try changing the sensor first and see if it helps the other problem too sometimes these can be connected.
I have run across several of these OBD-II trucks with the P0443 and blinking O/D light problem over the last year or so on this and a few other forums. So far the ones who have reported back have resolved the issue with a new PCM.
replaced both o2 sensors and nothing changed. I'm still throwing the 1130 and 1150( lack of heated o2). What is the next compponent, what controls the heat going to the o2.
Thanks
