Hi guys I have a question how many miles before the odometer turns over, or can somebody help me read this is my odometer numbers 559958 do I have to read the first five # only or do I include the #8 which is the one that turns fast thanks in advance.
The odometer goes to 99,999 and 9/10 and then rolls back to zero.
As I understand your post, your odometer reads, Fifty five thousand, nine hundred and ninety eight, and eight tenths miles.
Thanks dbdbb so most likely my truck has 155,9958 instead of 55,9958 the guy that sold it to me said that it had 45,000 at least thats what it read when I bought it, o well not bad for the $300 that I paid for it.

Not many miles for 40+ years of service. Likely it's been around the block several times.
Yup I kind of had an idea those where not the original miles, but I just had to ask.
He was the only owner before me, and the truck is in pretty good shape besides some superficial rust and paint peeling off.it got this far with original motor it was standard wen I opened it to rebuild also rebuilt the transmission so hopefully I can get another 40 year out of it. Thanks for the reply jowilker.
its hard to tell how many miles are old truck really has. my truck read 30,000 but was really 330,000 miles, now it reads 14,800 but is really 414,800. i bought it in 2003. its on its 4th engine/rebuild.
