What size is the one you took out, and are you done yet?
Current DP is 4".
Not done, but running.... I just wanted to get it mounted and plumbed and fired up before I fly out to ATS tomorrow morning. I'll be back on the 4th and have it done by the end of the week.
seems that you have lost your tach? it that because you had to replace the gear?
its touchy sometimes.
got the new turbo all tied up today. Built a 2-pc 3" downpipe this time, vs the old one which was a 1-pc 3.5"-4". It was a huge PITA to get in and out, and fit in general. This once was easy to install, and I can remove the upper portion of it to remove turbo or access behind the engine for whatever reason.
First impressions.... it changed the exhaust tone drastically. It is much louder/deeper/dronier now. Also it lost boost, but lowered drive pressure and EGT's. Hard to really test the turbo out with my stock injection pump.
i could tell the exhaust tone difference with out the pipe, sounds more like a semi now from what i heard.
is that the same a/r as you had before (sorry i can't keep track of it all)
so you lost boost because you are flowing more now or because it doesn't have enough fuel?
what's you drive to boost now?

no, different exhaust wheel and AR.
went from a 73/65 .80 T3 to a 76/68 .91 T4
The theory is that this new comp wheel flows more air at a lower boost, so it will do the same flow/performance with less boost.
I'm not going to comment too much on it till I get my DB4 back.
Its neat, but doesnt really give you a great idea. I mean I just did one and it gave me turbo sizes from a GT30 all the way to a a GTX42...thats a HUGE range!
well, you still have to look at the maps and see what you want.
basically it does some figuring and plots points on the compressor maps(if you click on the selections)
