Checked out some of the Ford Truck Forums out there and this one has some great info. Long time Chevy guy that went Ford after the Feds took GM over...Sold my Chevy's and now have a Ford Van and a '69 F250. The '69 belonged to my neighbor and has not been on the road much in the last dozen or so years. Started without much trouble and I put new points/plugs/cap in it but still need to check the timing once I clean up the marks a bit. Glad you guys are here and looking forward tapping into the info you have posted here.
Thanks for the welcome...Truck is pretty much unmolested and I will be keeping it that way for the most part. Tires are in decent shape so they are fine for now, but when it comes time to change them I will be torn between keeping the stock rims or dishing out extra $$ for the 16.5 in tires. Although emissions comes into play for most vehicles in Denver, anything 1975 or older is exempt and you can buy plates 5 years at a time.
5 years at a time would be nice. On the timing marks i always took a white out brush and mark the line i wanted to be at then come back with a knife and scratch right where the line is at so i could see it much better.

16.5" tires are becoming obsolete unless ya have some connections in the military. Otherwise, I recommend keeping the hubcaps and simply finding a set of 16s or 15s from the JY... Save yourself the headaches.

Apparently they seat different then other tires...My son works at Discount Tire Co. and he was telling me they won't work on them anymore due to an deadly accident when the worker was trying to seat the bead on one and it blew up in his face.
