I have like a warning beep or something like that going off every half an hour or 45 minutes it beeps five times each cycle it sounds like the warning bell for my door a jar or something like that. There is no warning lights that come on in my dash cluster, just the beeping sound.
Hmm.. It says the alarm will sound five times simultaneously if the light is burned out or there is a problem with the airbag system. My light is fine, does this mean that there is possibly something wrong with the system?
Ok, I put the key in the air bag, on/off switch and turned it on and off a few times, while I was doing that, a rapid clicking noise was comming from under the dash.
The beeping noise has stopped now, but when I shut my truck off and pull the keys out of the ignition, I here that rapid clicking noise under the dash and my signal lights also work without the key on in the egnition.??
Could this be a problem with my multi function switch??
bump to the top. NEED MORE INFO PLEASE. my 2000 f350 crew cab 4x4 just started doing this today.i am thinking i did something when doing my ac bypass pully kit(cut a wire becouse i couldent get it of the unit)then yesterday did a oil change. mine beeps 5 times then 10 sec it beeps 5 more times.it does the 5 beep cycle 5 times then qwits.
Just be aware you don't want to mess around the airbag system with the battery connected, you will want to disconnect the battery first. First thing I would do is scan for codes with a professional scanner and see if anything comes up.
ok my bad but i never were a seat belt.i have had this truck for almost 9 months and it has never done this before.the seat belt dash light does come on but i can hold the click button in for a sec and it wil go away but the 5 beep 5 cycle thing keeps going. there were 2 wires going to my ac unit.the square on un plugged no prob.the round one got cut.i was frustrated at this point in my bypass pully kit pit stop maneuver. since i cut this wire the battery light on my dash is on full time and my battery gage reads about 3/4 of a tank if that makes sence? i have been driveing it like this for about 4 days now (probably 2 maybe 3 hundred miles.)i dont remember what my voultage regulater red before all my trama but am kinda wondering if im gunna blow up my battery or something.
i dont have a key hole in my dash for the airbag.i allso dont have a book for my truck yet.but when i get one ill look under airbags.can ya clue me in a lil.is this gunna stop my truck or just annoy me untill i get a book?
a thought .should a 2000 have a key switch for the airbag? mine is a bought used salvage titel truck.seats are buckets not bench and a few other differnt things i have noticed.
Your crew cab does not have a keyed switch to turn off the airbag. The Regular Cabs and Super Cabs only have that switch.
Upon reading your desription of the beeping again it sounds like it may be too frequent to be seatbelt minder related. Its been a while since I heard mind and the memory is a little lax.
Probably is the airbag module like post #2 suggests. I would check for any DTCs. (diognostic trouble codes)
It may be possible you shorted out the wire to something when it was cut and blew a fuse or even a module. I would also go over all your fuses to check for any blown fuses. Hopefully the truck came with an owners manual. The electrical issue may be at the root of the issue with the beeping.
no love for me with a owners manual.thats why i gota wait for the ford book. i am going to check fuses and tape up the wire i cut rite about now.ill post up how things went tommarrow.im starving need food and the wife is btching in my ear to get of the pc ..lol.. see yya guys later.thanks for tips.
