so after I overheated the truck. I had to replace the upper rad hose. then I decided that I might as well replace the thermostat. had to order it from motorcraft. I guess I'll add this engineer to the list of people that need a good kick in the nuts. this is rediculus.
Not one of International's best ideas, but its sound and works...and IMHO...if it aint broke...dont fix it.
only one problem with that point of view;
when you wait to fix it,it always brakes when your driving,leaving you beside the road to do it or a tow home.then it just costs more,and that's if whatever broke didn't do more damage which costs far more than if you fixed it before it broke.a good 'ol catch 22 there.it'll get ya either way lol.might as well maintain it well at home,rather than fix roadside.
Well yeah, i mean if your replacing it at home to prevent this from happening, but the way its setup works for a long time and is tried and true, then i dont see a reason to change it, ford windsor motors are like this, i know my 2.3l Ranger is like this...idk bout the V10 yet.
