Hi. Does anyone know where I can get the front leaf spring hangers for my 47 pickup 1/2 ton? I've found the spring bushings, bolts, shackles, etc...at Mac's, but my hangers appear to be wallowed out, holes ovaled, and I can't find them anywhere. I'm about to think I'm going to have to resort to making some. They appear to attach to the rails with the large steel rivets, instead of bolts, so I guess I'd have to get a grinder up in there to cut the heads down enough to hammer them through. Shouldn't be a problem, though, since it won't matter if I grind into the old hangers a little.
Thanks a lot christurney77. That link was for the LH, but I don't see how it's offset or anything, so that it wouldn't work on the right side as well. I asked the seller, waiting on his reply. Thanks again.
i'm in the same boat with my 64' f250 i'm having Rare Parts in stockton making them big $$$ for two shackles

yea know have you tryed a spring repair outfit? they know a lot of supplyers
Schoo, I mentioned it to the driveline shop that did my u-bolts for me, and they didn't know of anyone. He gave me a name to a street rod shop, not much help there either. I'm talking back & forth with christurney77 on here about possibly getting a set. Thanks.
Just take an air grinder with a thin metal cutting wheel and grind a cross in the head and a hammer and chisel will usually cut off the head, then pop them out. If you get them off maybe you or a machine shop that you trust can weld them up and re drill them. Bolt them to the frame with grade 8 bolts.
