Clunking

I have a 2008 v10 f250 crew cab longed. I was wondering if anybody can tell me why when I come to a stop and the rear off the truck settles it clunks. Then when I take off it does it again. It doesn't do it every time either. It will also do it even after the truck is already rolling under it's own power and I give it gas.

It's a common problem. The driveshaft slip joint needs lube. Ford sells a lube specifically for this. Nothing else seems to last very long in the slip joint.

I agree on the slip joint. I had to grease mine up about 2 months ago.

Do you have to use a special socket for the rear driveline bolts

No, just an 8mm combo wrench or maybe a deep socket.
