so i was sitting in the driveway with my truck on, foot on the clutch, and in 1st gear. i was playing with my cb radio then my truck started to make bad sounds so i pushed the clutch pedal to the floor and the sound went away. then the sound came back and the truck started to move foward.
i shut the truck off and tried to start it again in gear and it started but made grinding and whining noises. so i shut it off. i opened the hood to check the clutch fluid leval (it was fine) and there white smoke coming from the tranny/clutch area. it didnt smell like anything.
now the clutch pedal is realy stiff and hard to push down. i can start the truck fine in nuetral but if i try and start it in gear then it tries to go forward. and i think the clutch pedal might be on a slight angal now also.
i guess theres no fishing for me today...
any ideas of whats going on??? thanks a bunch!
(ps, its a 1997 mazda b4000, 5 speed, b 4000)
checked the clutch fluid again and it was way down. filled it up but still nothing. now my clutch pedal wont move at all and im pretty sure i bent the pedal
i just blead the clutch lines and now the pedal will move again. there was fluid pouring out of the clutch/tranny area when i was bleeding it.
looks like i blew my slave.
i know you have to drop the tranny and stuff to do the slave, but is it a driveway job? any special tools that i might need?
