Clutch issue

I have a 1999 f350 dually 7.3 standard transmission. The clutch pedal is soft and I can't get it to go into gear or out of gear. I had to force it into 3rd gear to get home. When at a stop light and the clutch pedal all the way to the floor, the truck will start to move when I release the pedal about 1/2-1 inch from the floor not enough to get it into the next gear or out of the existing gear. So is my problem the clutch or the one piece hydraulic system that consist of reservoir then goes to the clutch pedal and to the transmission. Please Help!

How did it happen? If this is an "out of the blue" failure I would suspect the hydraulics. If it's been a gradual thing I'd guess your early clutch fork is bending.

Gradually been getting worse. Is the clutch fork something that usually goes out? Is this something that is easy to replace? I have changed the clutch and hydraulic system in the past with ease. Where is the clutch fork located?

Also, this problem started all of a sudden and then gradually got worse. It didn't leave me on the side of the road. From one day to the next the pedal felt softer.

Was fight'n clutch problems for awhile. Broken peg on pedal, blew out the slave, clip broke on master.... I say, start with the master/slave assy. Dont tool around with replacing one or the other. If theres an Advance Auto near ya, go there. They have the assy in all aluminum, if not, your local auto parts store, is the next best thing.

Advance Auto = PF9021

or Amazon...
