zf5 ?

My 96 has had syncro issues since i bought it cant down shift 3rd or 2nd w out almost stoping i got a price bearings and syncs at $750 for a rebuild me taking out and putting back but iv read
its not a bad job doing yourself anyone done it befor any thoughts on it can it be done w out a press and basic tools

You'd need a press, a bearing separator, and some long gear pullers.

^^^^ what he said. If you can get it rebuilt for 750 and they do a good job jump all over it.

They guy rebuilt my trani in my ol z71 and i had no probs w it and he did one in dads ol cummins and he had some issues w it but imo thats dodge for u

I think thats what i will do i also found some on ebay for 899 but i may just have it rebuilt instead just dont want to get into forks and gear rings also and run my price up

Ya i most likely will i wont be in to big of a hurry iv drove it for 2 yrs now just cant down shift 3rd or 2nd and shifting to 3rds tricky just gotta hit rpms just rite

Not to bad to rebuild if he has the tools and a manual. I was gonna rebuild mine but the parts that had failed were gonna cost more then I bought my rebuilt trans for.
