Flashing O/D, No Odometer, No Speedometer
OK, So I park the truck, go into the store for about 15 minutes. Come out, turn the key...Lights light up, but no start. Tried in park, neutral, and everything else.. Opened hood and crossed over starter relay, she started right up. Drove home (only 1/2 mile) with no speedometer, no odometer, O/D light flashing.. Trans shifting all over the place. Crawled under and found the wire harness going to the park/reverse switch on the tranny had somehow come loose from it's hanger and was laying across the front driveshaft. Had rubbed long enough to rub insulation off 2 wires. Taped it all back up and went to under hood fuse box. Found 30 amp maxi fuse blown and replaced it... Back on the road again... Said all that to say THANKS AGAIN for this web site and all you guys here. Because of reading posts here, I knew to check the neutral safety switch on the tranny and got her back on the road.

My wife worked at the camp ground one summer. I would go out there when I got off work and keep her company and haul fire wood to people's camp sites for them.
Glenn, I'd much rather pull a 35' 5er than the 38' tag-a-long I had! That thing sucked in some of the camp grounds I had it in! One place we used to go a lot, the people that ran the camp ground were all making bets with each other whether or not I would get it in the only tiny spot they had vacant. I got it in there, but I was up on the side of the hill, down in the woods and had the road blocked for 30 minutes LOL!! One older fella that worked there came by later that evening and thanked me....said he won 10 bucks! LOL!!!

Been there done that Bill!! LOL I've been in campgrounds where people will bring out their lawn chairs to watch. I'm a all are nothing guy, I either nail it or completely blow it! Once my wife asked this guy to move his pickup, told him I wasn't very good at backing up and I didn't know she said that to him. It was a really tight spot and I swung it right in there without one pulling forward. This guy came over, leaned in and said 'I think you did a great job, your wife said you weren't any good at it. I just laughed and later gave my wife some crap!!

haha, We have walky, talky's (sp?), so she always jumps out to guide me. Sometimes that's a good thing, sometimes we actually argue on the walky, talky's, LOL. The one thing she can't get straight in her head is when she wants me to come straight back she tells me to straighten out my wheels. Well, that's fine if the pickup is actually straight with the 5er but if I'm at a angle I need to adjust for that. She don't get it. I shouldn't be hard on her, she is a great help! (she just looked over my shoulder, LOL)
