Good Thursday NorCal FTE! Hope everyone has a great day.
Joe, Baby sitting eh? Oh joy! What about this weekend? Any free time? just got my UI check, and it is half of what it is supposed to be. of all the times to pull a stunt like this. I checked the website, and they only credited me with one week of unemployment instead of two, so I submitted a claim for the second week. Hopefully it will not take a week for them to credit it to my account. When it rains it pours eh? This is unreal.
Good Morning NorCal! Hope everyone has a great day! TGIF!!!
Just got a job offer. Someone called and said they saw my resume, and wanted to offer me a part time job selling HP products in Best Buy stores. Job pays $14.50 an hour, but is only noon to 5 on weekends. I told him I was interested. Then he asked what my transportation was, and I had to tell him city buses. I asked if that would be a problem, and he said yes, because there are 4 Best Buys in the area I would need to drive to.
However, he did say that the company is a marketing company for well known companies (like HP) and one of the companies (Sony) has a job position that does not involve driving to stores. So he told me he would send my resume to the hiring director of that department. I told him when I worked at Alorica I was providing tech support to Sony customers, sort of like what they do now, when you see a person in a Best Buy store with an HP shirt on, they don't work for HP, they work for this marketing company. (HP is one of the clients of this company.) So, hopefully, I will get a call from him. They want people who will commit to at least 6 months of work, and they promote from within. So once I get my foot in the door so to speak, the sky will be the limit for advancement. I can work the Sony gig for 6 months to make enough money to get the Bronco legal, then transfer to the HP gig if I wanted, or just stay at Sony. So, keeping my fingers crossed that I get a call from the Sony guy. I don't know if the Sony job is part time on weekends or not, hopefully it is closer to full time hours, but I will take anything offered a this point.
Yes indeed, fingers, toes, and eyes here. It will be with Sony TV's this time, so I don't know if it is sales, or tech support, but at this point, I don't care. As long as they hire me.
Just checked a few minutes ago, and it is right at 100. Tomorrow is supposed to be 95. So maybe it will make moving fun (yeah right) instead of a chore.
