I;m havin a heck of a time getting my belt back on my truck. It came off easy enough without removing any thing else, any tips, tricks,or voodoo magic would be greatly appriciated. going out to try again will check back in one hour if not installed. And thanks to all that have responded in the past great forum and great people with lots of real life experiance and knowlage. Again thank you!
might be able to loosen up the alt. mounting bolts (back ones further off then the front) and pitch it forward enough to get the belt around the pulley...then just tighten it back down.
1/2 in drive ratchet w-pipe or a long breaker bar to swing tensioner toward center of engine. Remove small piece of shroud in front of alt first. Under tensioner is a little " kick stand" ( passenger side) that will lock it in loose belt position. Get belt in position on pulleys and then give it a yank holding belt below alt. kickstand will release and tighten belt.
You know Harbor Freight sells a half inch breaker bar that has the same 45* offset for about 9 bucks...
I will have to check it out. I have some flat steal and was going to get a cheap 1/2 3" extension and weld it to the steal. The offset it the key. Thanks
Thank you all, mostly it took my helper buddy to leave, and with my wife's help I was done in about 10 min. Again thanks to all of you and beers are on me any time anyone gets around Mead CO
