Hi I have been looking at prices on a blue spring upgrade and came across this web page Riffraff Diesel: Ford Fuel Pressure Regulator Blue Spring Kit=
price was 29.88 and also been looking at tousley ford price is 52.80 I was just wondering if the one that is 29.88 as good as the one from a ford dealer?and also how hard are they to change and any special tools?thanks and God Bless!!!

Hi,
I am going to guess that the cost could be lower because I did not see a cover
in the one at Riffraff.
That upgrade is on my list as soon as I find out if it has been done or not.

Here is a video on the install

The difference in price is the one that RiffRaff has listed is without the cover. And unless you've done something to yours...the cover is designed to be reused; it's made of aluminum. You don't need any special tools, but will find it allot easier if you use a bungee cord to pull the upper radiator hose down out of your way. Drain the secondary filter housing (use a turkey baster) before you pull the regulator cover or you'll have diesel everywhere.

T27 torx bit. My cheap set of torx keys in 1/4" sockets didn't have one and I had to pick up a single.

I used a ratchet strap around the upper rad hose and pulled it down, tied off to the front tow eye.
