Well, focals are reall y top end and cost twice as much as the Polk stuff. I don't know about infinity, never liked their style, too warm and soft edges in the highs.
If you want good sound, you're going to have to spend $100 or more for a pair of speakers, regardless of the brand.
If I'd have known how crappy the OEM speakers were when I ordered my truck, I would have asked Ford to just leave them out and credit me back the $0.37 they are worth.
I put in the Infinity Kappa 682.9CF direct replacements for both front and back, left the tweets in as is and hooked up, and it sounds just fine for these 50 year old ears. $140 out the door (or the mailbox in this case). Sooo much better than the Dixie cups Ford decided were "premium" speakers in a $60K truck.
Well I installed four Infinity 8602CFX speakers in my truck this evening.
I have the basic CD player and XLT cab so I don't have any tweeters.
Even with the low powered basic unit, the sound quality is much better so I feel it was worth the money spent.
Good enough for now until I decide to do more later to better utilize these.
