But enough of my conspiracy issues), he told me that the normal range should be 195 to 199 unloaded at highway speeds and around 207 with a load. I told him that mine got to 219 just on the 6 mile drive to his shop and he said, "Ya, you definately have an issue and if I had to guess I would say that it was due to a faulty EGR sensor, it will be the third one in here in 4 months". Didn't like to hear that I have a problem but at least I'm hopeful in that he knew of the issue.

Anyway, just wanted to share that info with you all and I hope that you have a great Independece Day!!!!!!

Sooo, my 248 degree oil temp is probably a little high? I've been wondering what normal should be. That's when I'm pulling a hill WOT. Running down the road on the flats it will run around 220. Maybe I should talk to my dealer about the EGR sensor thingy. Thanks for the feedback.

Finally got out on our trip there and back, oil temps although didn't hit 270 degrees, but still too high hitting 246 last night on a hill, outside temp 90 deg. Calling ford again on Monday. Trip was awesome, had no problems, but not acceptable temp. I did hear fans kicking on this time, and still no error codes.

Interested in Fords comment on oil temperature. Glad to see you had a successful tow.

Had no problems!!.. nice to hear..

I don't think 240ish for the oil is too high, regardless what the dealer said.

if the fans come on and go off, then the system is happy.. 1st time the fan turned on on my 08 I thought the engine was about to blow..

if the oil temp was solid at 240ish that might be different..
| what was the oil temp range (flat vs hill)? (see you said 212 coming home after repair, no load)..
| others have said 210-220 no load.... so 20-25 degrees extra under 14k load, uphill, doesn't sound like much.

| pulling how much weight? (14k from 1st post)

212 - no load

Highest I saw under load - 246 at 90 degrees is in my opinion too high. Will be discussing with Ford tomorrow.
