My new (to me) 2005 X just threw the P0209 code (per my ScanGauge II). I found another post that says its the Injector 9 Control Circuit. Where is this located and can a shade-tree mechanic (me) fix it? Are there other things I should check that could have caused this failure (like wiring chafing)? Thanks for the help.

Reason: fix title
Sounds like wire chaffing to me. Is there a "reset" option for the SGII? Maybe I need to get one of those to keep in the truck...and leave the AE in the toolbox. That way I'll have experience with an SGII.

Yes you can reset SGII back to manufacture settings
Actually, I was drifting to sleep last night wondering if I muffed the code (duh!!). I think it actually is P0299, which implies a sticking turbo (at least that what I can surmise). I cleared the code with my SGII and drove it hard from a few stop lights (20+ lbs of boost) to try and clear out the soot.
Another thread suggested Racor Diesel Conditioner Plus. Any thoughts?
Being a PSD newbie, are you referring to fuel pressure psi? I haven't yet set up my SGII to monitor fuel pressure. When I stomp on the accelerator from stop, I do see boost in the mid 20's, however.
I reset the DTC via the SGII and the CEL has remained off. I will be pulling my 8000# camper this weekend but want to make sure I don't do any more damage. Thanks.

Counts trouble code cycles. Ones that are there, yet not showing a light as of yet. (not enough cycles to throw the light on) Kind of gives a heads up.
I had mine show a count and found it was a fan speed sensor issue. My SGII can't read those "pending codes". I thought newer updates can, not positive though.

The only way you can monitor fuel pressure is to plumb a sensor into the test port of the fuel pressure regulator.'You'll need a M12x1.5 metric fitting to thread into that port. Folks like Clay at RiffRaff carry an adapter that will convert it from metric to 1/8 NPT. This is the gauge I'm running in my truck:
And it's mounted in a 3-gauge A-pillar pod that I also picked up from Clay. He'll pre-paint them if you supply the trim code of your truck. When you install one, just remember that the fuel pressure should never get below 45psi when the engine is running. Above 60psi is where you want to be.
I did pay more attention to my boost yesterday and noted 22.8 psi under heavy acceleration. Good, right?
Also, I set my SGII Xgauge to monitor the DTC as amdriven2live suggested. Only 1 DTC (presumably the P0299 code previously mentioned).
So.....given that the P0299 code flashed once, is there anything preventive I can do to help clean the turbo short of pulling it out (i.e. additives)?
Regarding fuel pressure, I wrongly assumed that the ICP (injector control pressure) in my SGII Xgauge would provide me the same reading as fuel pressure...Not! Thanks zhilton for the post...great detail. Regardless, I'm going to do the Blue Spring upgrade to insure proper fuel pressure.
zhilton: curious, what other gauges do you run? I been noting other's preferences including ECT, EOT and transmission. Thanks.
