Thanks for the info!
Keep us informed, also who's exhaust are you running and would you do the hd4r100 again, I am gearing up to do a load of mods this summer to the 02 in sig, up-pipes, WW, trany cooler, trany(I think right now JW), exhaust, DP tuner, 650 dash with Gauges. Just getting plan put togeather.

Thanks

Mine just showed up by UPS an hour ago. Now I just need the injectors to show up so I can go burn some fuel.

I just got:
Stock (Modified for Stage 1 injectors)
20 Tow
80 Economy

Once I get it back together and make sure everything is working good I need to get the guages in then I will probably get 40 or 60 tow, 100 hp, and maybe high idle.

I have a cross country trip coming up in a couple weeks I can't wait to see what the single shot injectors and 80e do for my fuel mileage.

My mods (with links) are in my signature, lots of info there. HD4R100 would be a close third when I consider price, warranty, and downtime. My transmission is all good and has the seal of approval from the guys in the know, but 3-year warranty vs. lifetime has to be weighed against the cost and the time it takes to ship a BTS or JW. Either way, the last transmission survived 1/4-million miles and this one is a lot tougher. Prepare to re-dial all tunes for the HD, it's a different beast.

No gauges and an 80e? I can cook the truck if I bury it too long on a mountain. I'm guessing at the preciseness of this, but I see some bad ju-ju on the EGT gauge if I park the RPMS below 1700 or above 2800 on a steep incline. When in doubt on a steep grade, drop the tune down in HP or go to stock... until you get your gauges. You may already know this, but I 'll say it to be safe - never tow on an economy or race tune.

I didn't see anybody mention the decel tune. If you haven't removed the Exhaust Back Pressure Valve, decel tune rocks in the mountains. It makes a loud hiss (while slowing me way down) and I call it the "Snake Brake".

I told Jacob at DP Tuner I wanted an economy tune and he knew I didn't have guages so I figured he would give me the 60e but when i saw the invoice it said 80e. The whole reason I waited this long to get a chip was because I didn't want to put a chip on without guages. I have another week before the injectors will be back so I will probably make a weekend project of installing guages.

I was really thinking of the decel tune but now that I moved out to the flat lands and don't tow in the mountains of Colorado any more I didn't think I needed it that much. I use the o/d off button all the time though when getting off the highway so I figured I would just do the Guzzle TC Lockup mod

Your TC should still stay locked up until whatever the tuner set it at. Mine is a 34MPH.

If you prefer having the 60e we can always swap it out. It is Jacob's second week of working here. The two tunes are right together on the drop down menu so it may have just been a slip and he clicked on 80e accidentally. No biggie we can change any time you want to.

Although we do recommend gauges, I would not worry about driving the truck until they are installed. Drive sensibly and don't use the higher tunes until they are installed. The EGT's in the econo tunes should always be lower over stock.

I just don't feel comfortable modifying my truck without gauges so I ordered gauges last night, I am still not sure why I waited this long.

It is no problem, I think I would probably rather have the 80e over the 60e anyway for now (I will probably experiment between the two for fuel economy later). Jacob was very helpful and professional, I would have never guessed it is his 2nd week, he answered every question I had about shift points and the different tunes. I never did specify which one I wanted, I just told him I wanted an economy tune for interstate driving.

Please don't take my post as being upset, I am not. I am very happy with the help and support I got from DP Tuner and I am sure I will be even happier once I get my truck back together and take it for a drive.

Oh no I don't at all. Just letting you know if you would rather have the 60e we don't mind swapping it out.

He has only been with us a few weeks. We've known Jacob for a long time now and couldn't be happier to have him on our team. He's been in the biz a few years now. Our drop down menu has bitten me before so I know how easy it is to click on the wrong line.

Diane
