OK, I kinda asked this before but was distracted by a CPS problem at the same time.
Anyways, I was wondering if anyone else has a DP tuner with both 60hp and 80hp tow settings?
I have these settings and cannot tell the difference between them. I also have the 80econo setting and can tell a definate difference between it and the 80 tow setting.
I talked to DP this morning and they said that I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between 60 and 80, in which case, I've wasted $45 because I have 2 settings that behave exactly the same.
Hope someone can shed some light, maybe DP and I have miscomunicated...
I have a 4 position chip from Total Diesel Performance (Tony Wildman). I currently have two tow programs also. I use the higher HP Tow program on the flats and the lower HP tow in the hills & higher grades. You might not fell the difference in the pedal but you should show lower EGT's on the 60 Tow. Have you towed with these programs yet?
I don't have my EGT installed yet so when I towed I kept it in 60, except for a few brief experiments. No difference in response or how it feels, hopefully I'll get the egt installed soon for further info.
Rich is right, I have the F5 DP-Tuner with 40tow,60,tow,80tow,80econo and 120fun. I got three tow settings to better control EGTs. 80econo is best suited for empty interstate driving. The 80tow is good for 6K and below towing, since my TT is 9K I figured that I would start off in 80tow and when the EGTs rise passed my comfort levels I would drop it to 60tow and then 40tow if need be. By the way, Diane says that the best setting for fuel economy in the city is the 60tow. So if you think about it, you did'nt waste your money.

What you should only feel the difference in between the 60 tow and 80 tow is a slight increase in line pressure in the 80 tow. SOTP you may not feel it. HP wise no you most likely will not see a difference. Now between 40 tow and 80 econo. Yes you should see a difference in HP because of the difference in HP range.

Hmm, ok. I have the chip and I was wondering which tune is recommended for driving around town... I know to use the 80 econo for highway.
