Let me see if I'm getting this right: The truck came stock with a E4OD? and what connector is that? the one from the harness? the one from the ECU?. Did that truck have an AOD auto before? what was the original equipment?.

I really dislike when ppl isn't clear about what they're asking, but I'll try to help out:

Case 1: If the truck came with an E4OD originally and you're just replacing the trans. then there is NO need to change anything, just using an E4OD from late 1993 and up, or a rebuilt one from a reliable source, since they were upgraded around that time.

Case 2: The truck came stock with an E4OD, and you're replacing it, but somehow you don't find the connector or it got severed, then you either find it, either wire up another one, or in the worst case replace the entire wiring harness of the truck, preferably with one from another 89 Bronco.

Case 3: Your truck came with an AOD auto and you're swapping an E4OD in, then you need the wiring harness and the ECU from a 89 Bronco in order to run that setup. The AOD is also shorter I think, so you'll probably need some drive-shaft modifications.

Case 4: You had a manual and are installing an E4OD, then repeat the modifications specified for case 3.

I might have missed something, but I think that's it... Anyway, welcome to FTE.

89 Bronco

First off sir sorry I didnt make myself very clear, I have a 89 w/a 5.8 and E40D I dont believe its the motor or trans that came in it. The issue is that the solenoid body connector is missing I took entire wiring harnees off of my 90 Bronco hoping that I could plug it in but no such luck, my question is can I find a way to wire this harness in w/out changing entire computer an all the wiring harness??

So you only have Park? Last year I removed the transmission wiring harness trying to diagnose E4OD shifting issues. On my 94 there are two connectors against the firewall under the master cylinder that "Y" into the harness that runs next to the MLPS. If you disconnect the MLPS you can pull the harness from over the top of the transmission if the final connector is not attached to the solenoid pack in the transmission. Then you can see the connector to the solenoid pack if it is there. Get a new connector from Ford and connect it first then the MLPS. Mine has a heat shield. After loosing bolts slide it up and back to remove it. It is on the passenger rear corner of the transmission. Disconnecting the solenoid connector is a booger. Push the bottom end of the tab from the passenger side towards the transmission and try to pull up on the wires. If you break it you get to drop the pan and replace the solenoid pack which has the connector for $200-300.
