Was wondering if anyone with a full size Bronco had any experiences regarding the use of a wiring harness made by Painless? And if so which specific model did you use?
Having several little glitches, and in an effort to expedite matters, I took my truck in to a mechanic. (The final straw was in commming out to find a completey dead batt.-- no turnover, no clicking of the solenoid, nothing, and on a month old brand new batt.) So, in trying to diagnose the problem, the shop has so far determined that there appears to be a short "hopping" between 2-3 wires in the harness. They believe these wires fused together somewhere along the harness.
And so, of course, the choice is do I pay the labor to have them go wire by wire, or do I just get a new harness. The shop is apparently having trouble finding a harness, so I started looking myself. Which is why I was asking about Painless.
FYI, I have looked at Jeffs Bronco Graveyard and Summit--Summit had the Painless product, but it was not vehicle specific, and Bronco Graveyard did not have it.
the wrecking yards should be your first course of action and best bet in my mind. otherwise your gonna pay way to much. now you say you have the AOD, are you sure?
does your tranny have a push button OD on the dash. or does the shifter read
PRNODD1 This would be AOD. this part is important an maybe why you are having a hard time finding a harness cuz most trannies of that year were E4OD.
