Getting ready to swap over to an ELC coolant. I've read that Zerex G-05 (sold at my local NAPA) is the exact same coolant as the FORD GOLD. Can anyone confirm or deny this. Haven't found anything else locally.
Correct, I haven't found anything but Rotella 50/50 (pre-mixed) and some kind of off brand ELC (can't remember the brand name) locally. If I have to order online, what is the most preferred brand (for the $$$)?
O'Reilly near my house sell G-05 concentrate at $13.xx per gallon and Napa charge me $16.xx. But I since found Delo ELC Cat-1 concentrate at Volvo Truck dealer. Cummins wants $36 per gallon for their stuff. Everywhere else only have 50/50
Oreilies can get ELC CAT EC-1 silicate free rated Iv been running it for 1 year now all good
IIRC 100.00 for 4 Gallons of full strength stuff
It takes 3.5 gallons full strength with all the water it retains fill that top off water and with the 1/2 gallon left over fill with water for 50/50 mix to keep it topped off and for when you change coolant filters
blades is right. O'Reiliys sells it, if i remember right its fleetguard brand. CAT-1 rated ELC.
i think it was 85 or so for me, but i know the manager very good. its what i have in my truck for the last 7 or 8 months an still running strong.
