If its possible to restart this thread I have a similar problem and used my AE to collect some data. However my problem is a miss between 1700 rpm and 2500 rpm, in park or cruising speed.
KOEO - icp 31.72psi IPR% 14.84 FICM 48
Idle - 635psi 23.05 48
2500rpm - 1380psi 47% 48
It has new HPOP, IPR, ICP sensor, FICM, fuel pressure spring kit, new lift pump, 3 new injectors, #1, #3, #5.
My truck never did it in park, only while under a load and hot, but it turned out to be a very simple fix. I replaced the EGR Valve. After great stress and headaches, it was as simple as $120 and 5 minutes to replace. I have about 800 miles on the truck without any trouble.
To those who have had bucking, surging, stalling and readings that are wack, take a look at the ICP pig tail, a wiggle test or may have to pull the connection theres a grey clip holding the three wires together you will see burn't or white looking wire corrosion.its time to replace. you wont always see bare wire . I hope this helps I grew gray hair chaseing the problem for almost 2yrs and the truck ran great cold when heated that's when things got weired. its always good to read data from your gauge it could very well be something else, but this is the most common good luck and if you need more help on replacement ,I can help too.
Where would I look for this pigtail? Is there any way I might have wiggled it when I replaced my EGR valve? Truck sure seems to run fine now.
NO the ICP on a Early built 03/04 will be under the turbo upper side of Ficm,
late built 04 ICP will be on the passenger side valve/rocker cover, the connection close' to the senser will short under the grey clip. although with heat under the turbo wire will still short .with IPR connection. Make sure when replacement use heat wrap after all connection shrink tube is Installed.
Yes Sir, the late built 04 and thru 06 is on the Passenger Valve cover
The ICP is the only thing threaded into the valve cover, the connection will be burnt at the grey clip before it connects to the ICP. What year of truck is yours? early built 04 back to 03 will be under the turbo and FICM some say its easyer to remove ficm and some say from under the truck . I would think if replaceing the pig tail I would want to see what I'm doing, Its real easy on the late built 04/06 from the top, In the tech folders on the main page is the 6.0 bible that will show where all sensers are plus some extras stuff to thumb thru
Here is the update on my 2003 6.0L, stumble running rough when warm at 1700-2300 rpm problem. I found a piece of spring coil or wire stuck in the RH HP Oil Rail check valve. I assume this affected oil pressure stability at each injector and would not be recorded by the ICP. Hope this helps out.
