Windshield wiper question
My 1976 F100 pickup has intermittant wipers. They didn't work at all till we fixed a vacuum leak right behind the carb. Are these wipers vacuum operated?

That's what I thought. I had a 46 ford pickup that had vacuum wipers and a 77 that I thought had electric wipers but wasn't sure. A guy at Advance told us the 76 had vacuum so that's why I asked. I think there might be loose wires that are causeing the wipers to come and go. I hate electrical problems!!

Check the ground wire on the wiper motor. My '79's wipers quit a few months ago and I thought I had lost the motor. When I got down to it, the ground wire had broken at the connector and wasn't completing the circuit.
