Hi everyone,
I have a 1996 F250 PS 7.3. The alternator seems to be charging according to the dash gauge. I did notice the battery light would appear and after reading another thread I wiggles the wires and it went out, I recharged the batteries and now it seems to crank slow, then now it will just click and wont turn over. any ideas on this?
Thanks for all the ideas, after checking all the cables and cleaning the ends I did notice the + cross over cable had some corrosion under the insulation, we tried usinf a heavy set of booster cables to make a better contact but still no luck. I had a friend lay down looking at the starter while I remote triggered the selonoid, he decided to tap on it lightly with a piece of wood and there it was!, sparks started to fly and the starer engaged. the problem ended up being the wire NEXT to the main + cable terminal on the starter, we took the old nut off carefully and bought a new 5/16 nut and re tightened it down, starts like a champ now.
