Power steering bracket
Don't mean to hijack the thread, but seems like a good opporunity to ask my question: I have a line on a saginaw pump and gear I want to install on my inline 6, which now has standard steering. It's from a donor truck with a 302. Am I correct that that bracket won't fit my 6 cyl and I'd need a bracket from a 6? And, if I got such a bracket for the inline 6, could I still mount that pump from the 302 on it?
I don't have any 302/351W's of that vintage...but do have a 77 with a 300 inline 6....I can try looking at bracket in the next couple days...but if memory serves me correctly...the 300 inline 6 uses a way different power steering bracket than all the V8's do. If I get the chance...I'll snap a pic and throw it up on here of the 6's bracket.

I don't recall correctly if the bracket off the 302 will fit the 6.
Some of the Ford E150 - E350 Vans, bread trucks etc. used saginaw power steering pumps. If you can find one at the junk yard, see if they put 6's in the E-series. You might get lucky.
I got my 460 out of a 30 ft motorhome and it has the saginaw pump.
Just letting you know from my experience. Trav.
Thanks guys. I am going to get the pump off that 302 donor this weekend. Looking at these pics and recalling the bracket off the 302, I may be in for some modification of the bracket. If necessary, I can have one made from scratch (handy to have a bro with those skills and equipment).
