Pinion play
My 67 F250 has a dana 60 rear. I removed the pinion yoke to change the pinion seal. The pinion has about 3/16" play forward (toward diff cover) and back. Side to side feels ok. Is this too much play? Time for a rebuild?

without the pinion flange there won't be any tension on the bearings causing play the pinion nut properly torqued down should remove all the play
