trans. issues
I have a 88 350 with a n/a 7.3 and a c6. The trans. dosn't go in reverse all the way, It will start to move slowly then it will bang into gear. It also wants to hold 2nd gear to long even with casual driving it dosn't shift into 3rd untill 3,400 rpm. It dosn't do either all the time it's hit or miss.

The Vacuum Regulator Valve is attached to the injector pump and uses vacuum to tell the transmission where the IP lever is IE: throttle position. If it goes bad, it may not send the correct vacuum pressure/suction to the trans and it won't know when to shift. The reverse issue is unrelated to the VRV, though.
