OK, so....I found matching 3 leaf packs from the front of a 2003 F-350 at my fairly local salvage yard. Truck is gone though so I can't check the build label on the body on the door frame. Supposed to have had around 56k for miles. Am I to assume these are X code springs? They have other trucks with V code springs that are marked as such and are complete but only 2 leaves. They only have b codes for rears though.

I'm proposing either x or v codes on the front with modded b's on the rear with a hellwig sway bar and matching shocks to accommodate the new leaf packs for height gained. Is the factory front sway bar OK on these excursions? Does this all sound about right? Thanks

Those 3 leaf spring packs have had an extra leaf added at some pint, as far as I know ALL SuperDuty trucks came itch 2 leaf front spring packs. X codes are 2 leaf packs and they were original equipment on F-550s!
Having an extra leaf added isn't so bad though, I modded my X codes with the top overload leaf from my rear B codes and they have been great.
B codes for the rear are a good choice as are C codes, I use a set of modded B codes.
The front EX sway bar is a decent unit, no real need to do anything there except to check the mounting bushings and end links for any play.
Sounds like you have a good plan, myself and several others here have swapped in modded B codes with either V or X codes up front.

In reading through this post...Do I understand if you buy from ATS they can set you up with the Modded B springs....so you are set to just swap them out?

My X is in dry dock right now. Brakes all around, flex lines, and front bearings. I need to do the rears right after. With all my back surgeries I am leary about doing the springs...even with help from a friend. I am calling my local spring shop tomorrow to see if they will do the mod for me..so I know for sure....if they won't I will next ask if they will do an install if I provide the springs. Thanks again..as usual.

Yes, call ATS Spring and speak to Junior, their rep that is active here on the forum. Tell him exactly what you are doing and what your goal is, he will hook you up. Either modded B code or modded C code rear springs should get you where you want to be with your EX.

Spoke to Junior...What a nice guy! Very patient with all my questions. I pulled the trigger and ordered the Mod'd C's from him. They don't do the Modded B's...So I may have to add to the front since I have the V's up front. But we will see. I carry 150 lbs of tools in the back at all times. (I think I may be conservative there) I add towing chains to that for the winter, especially where I will be plowing. So I am hoping that I can get away without doing anymore to the front. I am at the end of my $$. If I spend $1 more I may need a place to stay. :-/
