Rear Leaf Question???

Hey guys, anyone know a good place to buy rear leaf springs for my rig??
1960 F250 4X4
10 leaf pack
I have a couple quotes ranging from $670-$710.00/pair

If you know anywhere that might be a little cheaper please let me know...
Either that or these ones may be able to be reconditioned, they're in rough shape though... So if you know anyone that does that too

Thanks Guys an Gals,
Joe

Where are you located? In northern California, I have gotten two good recommendations for the Sacramento area. The first is Valley Spring Inc in Dixon, CA and there is Sacramento Spring in West Sacramento. They both repair and build new springs. I know that Sacramento Spring has their own forge and with replace leafs and make sure that that they match. I am not sure about cost. That will be my next to do item on my truck as well....Once it is running to get it over to them. If I get more information on cost, I will pass it along. Steve

Thanks Steve, I had already called Valley spring and he was 18 weeks out, so he was honest and said "Sorry I don't want to waste your time" he then referred me to Atlas Spring who only wants $390/pair!!... Moore Spring in Cali is winning the price game right now at about half the cost of the other competition at $320.00 Who I found in a recent Hemmings mag.

I'm located in Massachusetts, I have a couple spring places out here but they want big $$ I'm sure they're probably ordering and marking up a couple hundred instead of making them...

out here I have, $710.00 and $670.00
and in cali I have, $390.00 and $320.00 but with probably around $120.00 in shipping...

I might just break the original leafs down, sand, paint and throw the roll poly in between em and buy new bushings at the cost of maybe 80 bucks and done... we'll see I'm just pokin around for now... I have the rig in many pieces right now... Doing a low cost repair on these I think is worth it cuz if they break or ride like crap then I'll only be out under $100 if not then great cuz I have other aspects of the build I'd rather spend the $ on

That is really great to hear. I wish I had the option of just tearing the springs down. I pulled my axle and realized that the rear springs were broken half way through the stack from loose U-bolts. I have to have 1/2 the stack rebuilt on both sides or have new ones installed.

Were the springs in Cali custom-made or just distributing new fabricated ones? The guy at Sacramento Spring swore by his quality steel over factory fabricated springs. I did not get a price.

Thanks for the other options in California.

Let me know how the roll poly works on your old springs.

Ciao, Steve

I also got a pair of front springs at JC Whitney,.. same price range as js292. Look for their free shipping specials. Made in the USA with the bushings already pressed in.

Lol, that's too funny. I just dropped my generator parts off at Valley Spring Works for powder coating. I had no idea they did springs too, but that would explain why they were assembling a leaf spring in the shop when I dropped off the parts. I'll have to ask if they re-arch springs (re-using my originals). You could always try Eaton Spring.
