Not a good day!

Truck was running fine then started run really rough. Good sized backfire then 10 seconds later another KAABOOOOOM! This was the end result.

Gas bomb, ignited in the muffler. I have seen it before. You need to get tuned up along with a new muffler.

Wow that sucks, good thing a muffler like that won't cost you to much to put in.

What do you need a muffler for? I'd just get a tune up and a straight pipe.

I feel ya, its been one of those days. Just drove my 65 up a set of steel ramps, only to have em fold under when I got to the top... My wife, who i had out there to hold up a hand when I reached the top, let out a scream and ran inside... Suffice it to say, the truck rolled forward and off the ramps. Now I cant get it to turn over. No clicks or sounds from the starter, all wires still tight, and voltage is good. Any thoughts?

Probably a little older than you, I couldn't put up that that noise more than 2 miles.

WHAT?

We got a 262 that had a rusty muffler. We just ran a pipe out from under the door. It's quieter than my GMC with a 383 and flowmasters.

Off the ramps...

[QUOTE=KJHouston;11770202] My wife, who i had out there to hold up a hand when I reached the top, let out a scream and ran inside...

Best use of a slick I've heard in awhile...

Take a look at the inner fender mounted solenoid and see if its intact, give it a tap or 2...

be careful, they will stick open too.

It's intact, but I landed on that as a possibility as well. Got one on order from LMC, following the "fix the cheepest thing first" guide. Ran a jumper from positive battery terminal to the far side of the solenoid and the starter kicked, so it's that or a loose connection at the ignition.
